ECOWAS PRESIDENT PAYS FIRST OFFICIAL VISIT TO CABO VERDE

Praia, Cabo Verde, November 4th 2018 - The President of the ECOWAS Commission, Jean – Claude Brou payed his first official visit to Cabo Verde as the Head of the ECOWAS Commission. The president concluded his three-day visit and also took advantage to meet with the Executive Director of the ECOWAS Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (ECREEE), Mahama Kappiah.

ECREEE - Dakar, Senegal – 13th November 2018 - Stakeholders in the energy sector have called for the establishment robust partnership that would spur major investments in the area of sustainable energy and energy access.  This was disclosed at the start of the 2nd edition of the ECOWAS Sustainable Energy Forum (ESEF) held in Dakar, Senegal from the 13th - 15th November 2018 on the theme ‘Achieving Sustainable Energy Targets in the ECOWAS Region’.

3rd Call of the ECOWAS Renewable Energy Facility is now opened

ECOWAS Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (ECREEE) launches 3rd EREF Call for proposals. The call is opened and the deadline for submission has been extended until 11 January 2019. However, pre-registrations will only be accepted until 20 December 2018.

ECREEE shortlists 6 firms for its Feasibility study on business opportunities for women in a changing energy value chain in West Africa

The ECOWAS Centre for Regional Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (ECREEE) received a grant of USD 1,000,000 from the African Development Bank, through the New Partnership for Africa’s Development Infrastructure Project Preparation Facility Special Fund (NEPAD-IPPF Special Fund), to implement a project entitled: ‘Feasibility study on business opportunities for women in a changing energy value chain in West Africa’.
